Long Version
Christmas Time in Spain
December arrives and we witness the Christmas atmosphere that dresses the streets
of Oviedo, this beautiful town in northern Spain.
Each year this season, trucks filled with decorations and ornaments, deliver
their merchandise to decorate the streets and avenues of Oviedo. Speakers hanging
from the light poles will transmit Christmas carols daily. The lights decorate
each of the main town streets, giving a warm and comfortable atmosphere to this city.
Rivers of residents and visitors stroll down and up the streets enjoying the season
charm.
At the cathedral square it is the tradition to set up the Nativity, commemorating the
birth of the Child Jesus. It is not possible to stroll in the city town without
visiting the beautiful Nativity, so well set up that anyone would think it is real.
Christmas lights, decorations, Christmas carols and the Nativity announce the arrival of Christmas in Spain and the rest of the Spanish speaking countries.

La Navidad en España
Llega el mes de diciembre y nuevamente somos testigos del ambiente
navideño que vestirá las calles de Oviedo, esta hermosa ciudad del norte
de España. Pero por igual ocurre en casi todas las ciudades y villas del país.
Cada año llegadas estas fechas, camiones repletos de adornos,
luces y decoraciones despliegan sus mercancías para decorar las calles y
avenidas ovetenses. Altavoces colocados en farolas transmitirán durante la
temporada navideña villancicos durante todo el día. Las luces decoran cada
calle principal, dándole un ambiente caluroso y acogedor a la ciudad. Ríos
de residentes y visitantes se pasean calle arriba y calle abajo cada tarde
disfrutando de este escenario navideño.
En la plaza de la catedral, es tradición montar un Belén, en conmemoración al
nacimiento del Niño Jesús. No es posible pasearse por el casco viejo de la
ciudad sin visitar y admirar el bonito Belén, tan bien montado que cuesta creer
que no es real.
Luces, decoraciones, villancicos y Belén anuncian la llegada de la Navidad
tanto en España como en todos los países hispanohablantes.
